Room 6 children receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion

Over the weekend, ten of us in Room 6, received the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion. For about six weeks we met together after Mass on Sundays, for lessons with our teacher. For Confirmation, we had to choose a Saint who we admire and would be close to us for the rest of our lives.

As the time was getting closer, we were getting more and more excited to meet the new Bishop, who was going to come to our parish to be with us as we continue our journey with Jesus. We also had to decide what we were going to wear. For Confirmation, which was on Saturday night, we could wear any clothes that were respectful. For First Holy Communion on Sunday, the girls were asked to wear white and the boys could wear white and black. We all looked fabulous.

Bishop Steve was very kind to us and he even came to celebrate in the hall with us afterwards. We had a special morning tea with the parish. There were so many people there who were congratulating us. We felt very close to Jesus and we will remember this weekend forever.
