Kindness and Kaitiakitanga
This morning Mrs Collins shared that this was 'anti-bullying' week. To explain how we feel when someone hurts us, we were all given a piece of paper on which we had to draw a picture of ourselves. Then we swapped our pictures with one another so that we didn't have our own. Mrs Collins asked us to scrunch the picture up as tightly as possible. After that we had to open it up carefully and pass it back to the person it belongs to. We were shocked to see our pictures with so many wrinkles and creases on them. Mrs Collins explained that when we say or do mean things to one another we leave a crease on that person which is very difficult to undo or make better.
This week our class goal is to help one another with kindness.

Hi Room 6 I like the picture that you use and how it looks. I think it looks very beautiful and makes lots of sense about bullying a person. Why didn't you use colours for drawing?

ReplyDeleteHi Andy...I work across 7 different schools in Glen Innes, but I come to St Patricks on a Monday. Of course I still remember you - I have heard some great things about you and the DOGabled programme.
